Durch einen besonderen Umstand und das Engagement eines Einzelnen wird’s möglich sein.
Vorzugsweise natürlich in entsprechenden US-ww2 Zelten – original oder repro, small wall oder „Dackelgarage“ – aber passend!

Termin bleibt und wird sogar noch ausgeweitet. October 15th tru 17th is the plan. Well, I know, it could be a bit chilly – as I know you guys as real jeepers no problem…

Zwar haben wir die Pandemie noch nicht überwunden – dennoch haben wir einen Punkt erreicht, wo wir den WAT 2021 steigen lassen können.

Believe it or not! Es wird das 10. Treffen hier in Gmund sein! It’s gonna be the 10th convention of vintage jeeps!
Das muss natürlich besonders gefeiert werden. Und das werden wir feiern! That needs to be celebrated! And we will!
The guys of the worldfamous „Black Patti“ will help us with that. Sie spielen sensationelle Root Music aus den 30-iger und 40iger Jahren. Manche von Euch kennen sie ja schon von einem früheren Event.
Wie bisher auch let me emphasize, es geht um DEN Jeep! Das heißt Willys MB, den Ford GPW and for its similarity den Hotchkiss M201. Sorry, but that’s the rule. Die Teilnahme ist auf diese beschränkt. Exclusively these models.
Das Treffen dient dem Spaß an diesem wunderbaren Fahrzeug. Pionier aller Geländewagen und Legende. Daher bitte auch keine politischen Symbole!
Just like in those past years könnt Ihr gerne schon am Freitagnachmittag anreisen. Für diejenigen, die dann schon da sind, werde ich wieder im Restaurant Seeglas reservieren, und wir können uns dort schon mal zum Abendessen zusammensetzen.
Richtig losgeht’s wieder am Samstag, den July 3rd at 1000. Bei Brezn und Wiesswürsten können die ersten Jeeptalks erfolgen. In bewährter Weise machen wir dann einen kleinen Ausflug in die nähere Umgebung. Dafür gibt’s dann ein roadbook. Der näcste Jeep ist dann nicht weit und man wird sich nicht verlieren – auch, wenn’s keine Ausfahrt im eigentlichen Sinne ist. Halt wie immer. Ausfahrt at everybody’s own riks – jeder auf eigene Gefahr und in Verantwortung für sich, die Passagiere und das Fahrzeug. Alles wie immer…
Die Fahrt macht hungrig und so geht’s dann irgendwann zurück zum headquarter of the WAT, wo’s die berühmten SeppSeidlBurger geben wird. And lots of more opportunies for jeeptalk.
On that 4th of July sunday morning werden wir für alle, die noch da sind und noch Lust haben eine Tour vorschlagen können. Auch da soll’s an einer Brotzeit nicht fehlen. Da organisieren wir gerne was.
Though das Treffen eine komplette Nonprofit-Veranstaltung ist, welche ich immer gerne gesponsert habe, bräuchte es einen gewissen Beitrag von Eurer Seite dennoch. Bei dem Programm werdet Ihr mir zustimmen, dass 50 Euro nicht zu viel sind. Neben der Verköstigungen am Samstag ist der „Black Patti“ Auftritt damit abgegolten. Fällig ist der Unkostenbeitrag für Erwachsene und Kinder ab 15 Jahren – smaller kids have free admission!
Last but not least: Falls Ihr mögt vermerkt doch auf der Anmeldung irgendwo, ob Ihr voll geimpft seid, oder als genesen geltet. Das könnte im Zweifel Einfluß auf die zulässige Teilnehmerzahl haben.
Genug geschrieben! Ran an den Griffel – Registration ausgefüllt und zurück hierher! Geht per Mail oder per Fax. Zahlungsmodalitäten erhaltet Ihr nach dem Eingang Eurer Registration!

strange times we are living through! Immer noch wilde Zeiten in denen wir leben.
Nun wagen wir dennoch mal eine Planung für den Sommer. Despite these cicumstances I want to announce the plan for this year’s WAT.
It will be the 10th convention here on Lake Tegern! Can you imagine that? Es wird das 10. Willys-Treffen am Tegernsee sein. Unglaublich!
Let’s try to keep’em rolling! Wir wollen’s nicht unversucht lassen und wieder zu treffen. Allerdings kann jegliche Planung derzeit nur unter Vorbehalt erfolgen. Wenn’s klappt, wird Euch ein sensationelle Programm erwarten! Wie es halt einem kleinen Jubiläum gebührt… We desperately want to give it a try! Though it’s obvious, that all planning is uncertain and dependent on what the future will bring.

4th of July is almost here…. Am 4. Juli sollte ja der WAT 2020 stattfinden.
We still do not have a situation safe enough to gather for the 9th WAT-convention.
Leider ist die Situation weiterhin noch nicht sicher genug, um uns in gewohnter Weise zu treffen.
I want to remind you of the plan, that we had here at the Hq.
We’d like to ask for a picture of you and your jeep, and we will create a beautiful gallery still. Preferably a photo taken on the very day of July 4th.
Aber wir hatten im Headquarter eine ausgezeichnete Idee. Schickt uns doch bitte – vorzugsweise am 4. Juli – ein Foto von Euch und Eurem Jeep.
Dann werden wir trotz allem eine sensationelle Galerie bekommen!
Etliche haben schon zugesagt und manche sogar bereits Bilder geschickt.
Some have already confirmed their participation and some have even sent pictures already!
Nachdem die Wettervorhersage mehr als gut ist, werden wir wohl eine weitere Tradition nicht einhalten können.
Gar kein Regen an einem WAT – das gab’s an einem WAT ja noch nie 😉
Moreover it seems, that we might have another alteration of a well known tradition at the WAT…
The weatherman predicts bright sunshine! No rain at all on a WAT – I guess we never saw that before!
Mit ein paar Wenigen aus der näheren Umgebung werden wir uns am 4. Juli hier für Weisswürst‘ und Brez’n treffen.

With a small number of folks, who live close by, we’ll have some Bavarian white sausages and pretzels on July 4th here in Gmund.

As sad as it was to cancel 2020’s WAT, as touching are your reactions to the idea of creating a gallery instead.
So traurig ich war den WAT 2020 abzusagen, so überwältigt bin ich von den positiven Rückmeldungen auf die Idee dennoch eine gemeinsame Galerie zu erstellen.
Einige haben die Idee bereits weitergetragen an Jeep-Freunde, die es bisher (noch) nicht zum WAT geschafft haben. Da sollten also schon ein paar Bilder zusammenkommen. Darauf freue ich mich jetzt!
So many of you confirmed, that they’d contribute to the WAT-2020-gallery already! Some even forwarded the idea to friends, who didn’t have the opportunity to join WAT so far. I guess, we should get some pictures!
Our jeeps did go through so much rougher times – we’ll keep’em rolling in these times!

Hopefully this message finds you well at this time! Zu allererst hoffe ich es geht Euch allen einigermaßen gut.
Sars-CoV-2 hat auch auf den WAT seinen Einfluss. Can’t deny Sars-Cov-2’s impact on your plans for WAT.
Die Zeiten sind zwar besser geworden. Dennoch bleiben sie unsicher genug, dass wir uns im HQ des WAT zur Absage des WAT 2020 entschieden haben.
Gerade für diejenigen mit etwas mehr Planungsaufwand und längerer Anreise finden wir es wichtig nun eine Entscheidung zu treffen.
Though things seem to stabilize a little bit, the situation doesn’t seem stable enough. Due to these circumstances the HQ at the WAT here on Lake Tegern decided to cancel this year’s WAT.
Sad, but fair enough for those participants, who’d have to take more efforts on planning and travel.
I was so much looking forward to seeing you again, plus a bunch of new enthusiasts, who would have joined in. Schweren Herzens erfolgt die Absage, denn ich hatte mich schon wieder auf Euch gefreut. Zudem hatten sich einige Neue angesagt.
Viele Veranstaltungen werden nun auf den Herbst verschoben. Wir würden das jetzt zunächst mal offen lassen. Though many events are postponed till this fall, we would let this open…
I had an idea. Maybe you find it as attractive as I do: Please take a picture of you and your jeep on that July 4th and send it to me. We will make a gallery and will be together on WAT’s website at least. Die Idee wäre nun, dass Ihr am 4. Juli ein Photo von Euch und Eurem Jeep macht. Lasst es mir dann zukommen. Wir werde es auf der Webseite einstellen. So kommen wir wenigstens dort alle zusammen. Was haltet Ihr von der Idee?
Gerade während ich schreibe denke ich: Da sollte es ja fast gelingen auf einen kleinen Rekord hinzusteuern! Also bitte macht alle mit! Motiviert auch Eure Freunde, die vielleicht bisher noch nicht beim WAT dabei waren und unser Hobby teilen. While writing it crosses my mind: Let’s try to set some kind of a record. We count on you! Maybe you even have friends, who didn’t have a chance to participate in WAT so far, but would contribute to our gallery this year!
Just a little reminder: This is all about the real thing! The Willys MB and the Ford GPW, plus the Hotchkiss M201, as it does look so similar. Und wie immer geht’s um die wahren Jeeps! Den Willys MB und den Ford GPW und der Hotchkiss M201 gehört wegen seiner Ähnlichkeit schon auch dazu!

Howdy folks,
some weeks ago I was gonna issue this year’s WAT-poster.
An enemy called SARS-CoV-2 emerged. We have to fight that threat together!
Today after many busy weeks I still want to present our poster to you! Thanks to my dear friend Steve it is extraordinary again!
So far I have no idea whether we can meet in July, but at the moment I’d like to try and hold the date.
Till then keep calm, my friends, and carry on! Together we’ll make it through this.
And then we’ll keep’em rolling again!
